CASA of Lincoln County (CASA) is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. CASA strives to have CASA volunteers and members of staff represent not only the Lincoln County population, but more importantly, the population that exists within the foster care system with respect to age, gender, expression, race, color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, national origin (ancestry), religion, disability or physical challenges, cultural, geographical, and socioeconomic status. In our multicultural society, we work to be an inclusive program valuing and celebrating the diversity of talents, viewpoints and life experiences of each individual. To achieve this goal, CASA will develop, implement and annually review a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Plan that outlines the activities necessary to obtain staff and volunteers that reflect the population and needs of the children served.
The Program has written Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policies which clearly state its practices in recruiting, selecting and promoting staff.
Diversity
All the ways in which people differ in relation to one another, including, but not limited to race, gender, age, national origin, self-identification, religion, abilities, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, neurodiversity, and physical appearance.
Equity
The ongoing practice of recognition and removal of implicit and explicit barriers and bias within procedures, processes, and distribution of resources in service of a world of shared prosperity and social justice.
Inclusion
The act of creating safe and welcoming environments in which every person can be and feel invited, respected, supported, and valued to participate fully and meaningfully.
